The Maze Group is Hiring a Remote Creative Strategist

We are seeking a highly adaptable and forward-thinking Creative Strategist to join our performance marketing team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the ideation, briefing, and retrospective phases of our creative paid social campaigns and landing page destinations. You will work closely with our ad buyers, clients, and creative teams to transform goals into compelling and results-driven advertising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ideation Mastery: Lead the ideation process by developing innovative concepts that resonate with our target audience and drive measurable results.
    • This means you understand copywriting and can execute on copy driven tasks
      • Writing landing pages, ad copy, headlines, etc. 
  • Strategic Briefing: Collaborate with ad buyers and creative teams to communicate a clear vision for each ad campaign, ensuring that objectives are well-defined.
  • Retrospective Analysis: Conduct thorough retrospectives to evaluate campaign performance, identify successes, and pinpoint areas for improvement. Use insights from retrospectives to inform future ideation.
  • Connective Expertise: Act as the connective tissue between various aspects of our business, ensuring that creative strategies align with broader company objectives. This means collaborating with media buyers, designers, and management. 
  • Hypothesis Testing: Develop hypotheses to test and refine creative strategies, constantly seeking ways to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Key Skills 

  • You have an advanced understanding (that can be demonstrated in an interview setting) of positioning, angles, hooks, sales copy, branding. Not only do you understand how to research, but you can execute on research to create unique positioning. 
  • Copywriting ability (research, production, briefing). We’re seeking a writer-first approach for this role, so it will be required that you demonstrate this ability in an interview setting. 
  • Fundemental understanding of the digital advertising landscape
    • Meta Ads, TikTok, YouTube, etc. 
  • Understand UGC/Creator generated content
  • Understand communication with designers & media buyers
  • DTC Ecommerce experience preferred

Qualifications

  • 3-6 Years of experience in a production focused role
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field 
  • Proven experience as a Creative Strategist with a strong track record of creative and strategic success.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in creative software and tools.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A passion for continual improvement and a commitment to producing creatively satisfying work that delivers measurable results
